Helpful Info - How to take Amena's Ionic Minerals
Our ocean derived ionic minerals are super concentrated and have no additives other than organically grown herbs in the herbal preparations. So yes, just unadulterated ionic minerals. These have a very strong taste! The usual recommendation is to take a teaspoon (5ml), diluted in a liquid of choice, with the evening meal. The evening meal is suggested because it is thought that as the body regenerates at sleep, having the minerals available then gives the body the "full menu" rather than some having been used in normal metabolic actions during the day. However, some people find it difficult to take no matter what they dilute them with.
So rather than go without, you can spread the amount out during the day. We recommend mixing it with food* or drink, either 1/3 teaspoon with each meal or in 'drops' form. If starting off taking Sea Minerals, 1/3 teaspoon per day for 3 days, then increase to 2/3 for a week and thereafter increase to 1 teaspoon. If you are using drops 20 drops = 1/3 Teaspoon.
You can also put Sea Minerals in your water bottle to drink throughout the day. This is really a 'personal taste' thing, as a guide 3-6 drops per 200ml hardly changes the taste of the water. Make sure you shake the bottle as the mineral drops are heavier than water and will sink to the bottom.
If you are giving these drops to young children, 2-8 years the rule of thumb is 1 drop per year of age. Over 8 years 1/4-1/2 adult serving until the child is the size of an adult.
NOTE: Amena's Ionic Sea Minerals are very high in Magnesium and as such, can, in a few cases, cause bowel looseness. This is why we recommend that minerals be taken with food. If, however, you do experience looseness, simply stop for a few days and let your gut recover and then re-introduce the minerals at a slower rate. Magnesium is not stored in the body and any excess is filtered out by the kidneys as waste.
